At the Piaget Institute in Gaia, Portugal, second-year students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Sciences took part in an inspiring open class focused on the History of Adapted Physical Activity, enhanced through the use of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR).
By integrating immersive technologies into the learning process, students were able to explore historical contexts, interact with virtual environments, and experience inclusive educational scenarios in a dynamic and engaging way. The activity demonstrated how AR and VR can transform traditional teaching methods, making learning more meaningful, participatory, and memorable.

The session highlighted the potential of immersive technologies to support innovative pedagogical approaches while promoting inclusion and active student involvement. Through experiences such as these, learners can better understand complex topics by seeing, experiencing, and interacting with educational content.

This initiative forms part of the dissemination and implementation activities of the Erasmus+ project “The Power of AR and VR,” showcasing how immersive technologies can enrich higher education and contribute to the future of innovative learning.
