Hi everyone!

Today I would like to raise a controversial topic regarding the disciplines, in which Poles are the best…

Polish athletes have been successful on the international stage for many years, winning medals at the Olympic Games, World Championships and other prestigious competitions. Poland has a long tradition in some sports. Here, you have a few sports disciplines, where Poles achieve the greatest successes!

  1. Volleyball

Polish volleyball is a sport, in which we have been achieving great success for years, both in the men’s and women’s categories. The men’s team in particular regularly ranks among the world’s top. The Poles won gold medals at the World Championships in 2014 and 2018, and also triumphed in numerous editions of the Nations League and the European Championships.

The most famous volleyball players are Wilfredo León, Bartosz Kurek and Michał Kubiak.

The successes of Polish volleyball players are the result not only of the players talent, but also of excellent training work and the support of fans who create a unique atmosphere at matches.

2. Track and field events

Athletics is one of the most important sports in Poland, and Polish athletes have been shining on the international stage for years. Polish athletes have won many medals at the Olympic Games and World Championships.

Anita Włodarczyk, Paweł Fajdek and Adam Kszczot are the most famous athletes!

3. Ski jumping

Ski jumping is a sport that enjoys huge popularity in Poland, mainly due to the successes of competitors such as Adam Małysz and Kamil Stoch. Adam Małysz was a pioneer of Polish successes in this discipline, winning the World Cup four times and medals at the Olympic Games and World Championships. Kamil Stoch continues this tradition, winning three Olympic gold medals (two in 2014 and one in 2018), as well as winning the World Cup and the Four Hills Tournament many times. The Polish ski jumping team has also been successful, winning medals at the World Championships in the team competition.

4. Football

Although football doesn’t bring Poland as many international triumphs as other disciplines, it is still the most popular sport in the country. The successes of Polish footballers in the 1970s and 1980s, including third place in the World Cup in 1974 and 1982, made Poles love football. Currently, the biggest star of Polish football is Robert Lewandowski, considered one of the best strikers in the world. His impressive achievements, both in club football (including with Bayern Munich and Barcelona) and in the Polish national team, make him an icon of Polish sport.

To sum up, the hard work and commitment of our athletes makes them stand out from other athletes from around the world!
