When Stitch, the mischievous alien from the animated classic Lilo & Stitch, crash-landed in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, everyone thought it was the end. Survival seemed impossible- lost in the middle of one of the largest oceans on Earth. But Stitch didn’t just survive, he landed on one of the most stunning places on the planet- an archipelago of islands known as Hawaii.

Eight islands are part of the Hawaiian archipelago. I saw 2 of them- Oahu (the island where the action of Lilo & stitch takes place) and Big Island.

From the moment I stepped off the plane on Oahu, I felt like I had landed in paradise. On Honolulu  music is everywhere. No matter where I went- whether it was the beach, a street in Honolulu, or a small restaurant- The melody of „Somewhere Over the Rainbow” plays over and over again. It perfectly fits the island’s vibe. Apart from music in Hawaii, one of the special sounds is the crowing of roosters. They are everywhere! these little red wild birds.

One of the most popular places in Hawaii is Waikiki. It is a large district with a beach. You will find there everything- a lot of shops (they even have Stussy store), various food and on the beach, you can watch hula dance or various amazing fire dance shows!

I couldn’t visit Oahu without trying to surf at Waikiki. It looked easy, but I ended up with some wipeouts. But it was still amazing!  The experience was incredible- the vibe, the energy, and watching those pro surfers up close.

One of the most amazing parts of my trip to Oahu was the time I spent on the beaches. Not just lying on the sand and sunbathing. The best part was diving among beautiful reefs and watching colorful fish. After a morning of swimming, I had to eat something, Luckily, Oahu is filled with local food stalls right near the beaches, offering a true taste of Hawaii. Forget about „Hawaiian pizza”- they don’t know it (it’s quite funny). Instead, they have shrimps, poke, and a lot of Asian food.

Oahu isn’t just about beaches! I set out on a few hikes to see the island from a different perspective. The view from Diamond Head was amazing!

In Hawaii flowers are everywhere- from the hibiscus blossoms to the fragrant plumeria. And it’s not just about decoration. In Hawaii, flowers carry deeper meaning. They’re worn around your neck or tucked behind your ear. They give you an immediate sense of aloha, the Hawaiian spirit of love and warmth.

A shaka sign – the unmistakable pinky and thumb salute – is the ultimate symbol of Aloha and local culture in Hawaii. Interpreted to mean “hang loose” or “right on,” the Hawaiian Shaka is a constant reminder that in Hawaii, it is not the norm to worry or rush. Thay use it all the time!

I’m sure that it was the best and certainly the farthest trip in my life. After this jurney, I can say that I was at the end of the world in Honolulu!
