Two weeks ago we were on our way to London- time really flies! From October 23 to 28, our class went on this amazing adventure by bus. The first and last days were mostly spent traveling, so we had four full days to explore London. Each day was full of exciting sights, fun experiences, and little surprises.

The first day of our trip to London was really thrilling, even though the transport was a bit hard. We went by bus all the way to England and crossed the English Channel through the Eurotunnel. Our guide, Miss Oriana, told us to look out for little fish and maybe even a shark. She is such a great guide -young, funny, and full of energy! I really hope she will be with us again next year on our trip to Italy. She always explained everything in a fun way and even recommended cool places to visit when we had free time.

When we got off the bus, many people ran straight to the windows to look for fish. My friend even said she saw a glowing deep-sea one (ofc, that wasn’t possible cuz the Eurotunnel is actually deep underground, below the sea 😜).

After we finally arrived in London, we had some time to eat and rest a bit. Then we took the Underground to the city center to see Tower Bridge. It was amazing, we took lots of pictures there and could also see some skyscrapers in the distance. As we walked along the Thames, we passed several bridges like London Bridge, and we saw The Shard, the tallest building in the UK.

On the way, our guide told us about the famous architect Sir Norman Foster, who designs very modern buildings made of glass and steel, often with triangle shapes. We saw two of his most famous works: The Gherkin, a skyscraper that looks like a big cucumber, and City Hall, a building shaped a bit like a cyclist’s helmet. Both looked super modern and really cool.

We continued walking and saw the old Southwark prison, a big ship nearby, and the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Then we crossed another bridge that Harry Potter fans might remember from The Half-Blood Prince. Our guide told us that this bridge used to shake when it first opened, so they had to fix it and make it stronger!

Next, we went to St. Paul’s Cathedral and later to Oxford Street, where we had a few hours of free time to shop, eat, and relax after a long day of sightseeing.

In the evening, we headed to our hotel – but it wasn’t that easy. First, we had to get to London Bridge Station, take a 30-minute train ride, and then another 30 minutes by bus (so over an hour 😔) . After this long and busy day, we finally arrived and checked in.

And that was the end of our first day in London- super tiring but amazing!
