Winter is slowly ending, and the ski season is coming to a close. If you haven’t been skiing yet, now is the last chance to enjoy the mountains. This season was really great for skiing. The weather was perfect- cold enough to keep the snow in excellent condition, but often sunny, making the days on the slopes much more enjoyable. Blue skies, fresh snow, and well-prepared pistes created almost ideal conditions for everyone.
Many Polish skiers, ofc stayed at Poland and enjoyed local resorts. Popular choices like Szklarska Poręba, Zakopane, and Białka Tatrzańska were full of families and weekend skiers. Some also decided to go a bit further. Here are the most popular destinations among Polish skiers this year:
1. Italy
Italy was the favorite for many. Resorts like Livigno and Madonna di Campiglio offered beautiful slopes, good snow, and reasonable prices. Livigno is famous for long runs, modern lifts, and lively après-ski. Madonna di Campiglio is smaller but very charming, with scenic runs and cozy restaurants. Delicious food and sunny weather made Italy hard to beat.
2. Czech Republic and Slovakia
Many skiers stayed closer to home, visiting resorts in Czechia and Slovakia. Places like Špindlerův Mlýn in Czechia or Jasná in Slovakia are perfect for shorter trips. The slopes are well-prepared, prices are friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Ideal for families or anyone looking for easy access from Poland.
3. Austria
Austria remains a classic choice. The slopes are perfectly groomed, the alpine villages are picturesque, and après-ski is lively and fun. Prices can be higher than in Italy or Czechia/Slovakia, but many skiers love Austria for the quality of snow and traditional alpine charm.
Even though the season is ending, late-winter skiing can be amazing- fewer crowds, sunny days, and beautiful mountain views. If you’re thinking about one last trip, now is the perfect time to go.
