As part of the Erasmus+ KA220 project “Data Journalism for Climate Action”, a webinar entitled “Climate Change and Data Journalism: Empowering Teachers” was आयोजित with the participation of 25 teachers from each partner country. The event took place at SŠ Ban Josip Jelačić in Croatia and lasted one hour, bringing together educators from across Europe in a collaborative learning environment.

The webinar aimed to strengthen teachers’ competencies in integrating climate change topics with data journalism in school education. Participants were introduced to innovative teaching approaches that combine environmental education with critical data analysis, enabling students to better understand complex climate issues through evidence-based narratives.

During the session, experts presented practical examples of how data journalism can be used in the classroom to interpret climate data, identify trends, and communicate findings effectively. Teachers explored tools and strategies for working with datasets, creating visualizations, and encouraging students to critically assess the reliability of information sources.

The meeting also provided a space for discussion and exchange of experiences among participants. Teachers shared their perspectives on current challenges in climate education and reflected on how interdisciplinary methods can enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Overall, the webinar contributed to building a stronger foundation for implementing innovative, data-driven climate education practices in partner schools, while fostering international cooperation and professional development among educators.
