As part of the “Data Journalism for Climate Education” project, lessons focused on renewable energy sources were conducted, during which students worked using active learning methods.

The session began with the creation of a mind map, which helped organize students’ knowledge about different energy sources and their advantages and disadvantages, taking into account environmental impact, costs, and availability.

Next, students watched a short educational video on renewable energy sources, which served as an introduction to further activities. This was followed by an experiment on the electrolysis of water, allowing students to understand the process of obtaining hydrogen as an energy carrier. They observed the reaction and discussed the potential future applications of hydrogen.

At the end of the session, students worked in groups to build models of wind turbines using recycled materials, combining theory with practice while developing teamwork skills.

The lessons were conducted by teacher Patrycja Kujawa.
