A few years ago, I visited Yosemite National Park in winter. Maybe it wasn’t the best time for hiking (even though it’s California) it was pretty cold, and some of the steeper trails were even closed for safety. But still, just being there was amazing. Yosemite is one of the most famous parks in the US located in the Sierra Nevada in California. It’s popular for its huge granite cliffs, stunning waterfalls, and wild nature. The park has been protected since the 19th century and became an official national park in 1890.

There are some really famous spots in the park.

El Capitan – This is huge, vertical rock face. There’s even a documentary about a guy who climbed it without any ropes . Totally worth checking out if you want to see what extreme climbing looks like.

Yosemite Falls – One of the tallest waterfalls in the USA

Mirror Lake – The perfect Instagram spot . On calm days, the water reflects the mountains like a mirror, making it really pretty for photos and a chill walk.

Mariposa Grove – A forest of giant sequoias. Standing next to these enormous trees makes you feel tiny.

Visiting the park is pretty easy- it’s about a 3-4 hour drive from San Francisco, which in the U.S. is actually not that far for a road trip. Entrance costs around €35 per car. In winter, the plants were mostly quiet, and I didn’t see any animals- most of them had gone into hibernation . So there wasn’t much wildlife to spot, but honestly, the views, the cliffs, and the quiet winter landscape made the trip amazing.

So if u are planning road trip across the USA its a must see!
