The first day of the LTT (Learning, Teaching and Training) meeting within the Data Journalism for Climate Action project took place on 15 April 2026 at Zespół Szkół nr 1 im. Henryka Sienkiewicza w Kołobrzegu. The meeting began with the official welcome of all participants by the Polish host team, followed by a presentation prepared by the Croatian partners on the project objectives and the IO2 work package results. This session provided an overview of the project’s main goals and the planned educational activities focused on climate action and data journalism.

During the day, participants took part in two key training modules. The first one, “Introduction to Climate Change and Sustainability in Education” (Module 1), focused on raising awareness of climate challenges and exploring how sustainability topics can be effectively introduced into school education. The second session, “Teaching Media Literacy for Climate Awareness” (Module 2), addressed the role of media literacy in helping students critically analyze climate-related information, identify misinformation, and develop responsible attitudes toward environmental issues.

An important practical activity of the day was the “Cleaning the World” initiative, during which participants joined a beach clean-up action in the center of Kołobrzeg. This activity combined environmental responsibility with teamwork and gave participants an opportunity to put into practice the values discussed during the training sessions. The first day ended in a positive and collaborative atmosphere, strengthening international cooperation and shared commitment to climate education.
